Yes She Would

This picture is the result of a couple things I wanted to try out. I wanted to challenge myself a little to:

1) Make darker, moodier pictures. I would like to have the ability to take a more sinister, unnerving stance in some of my pictures as most of my art comes across with a goody-goody sort of feeling even when I try to make more serious stuff.

2) Tackle the design of creatures outside of my usual style. I design my anthro critters in a certain way: generally not adding or removing any body parts that aren't on the original animal. I feel it does give me a unique sense of design, but at the same time I'm wondering if it might be a bit limiting. Different anatomy designs do exist, and it would be good to get used to variation and changing things up every now and then, just to be able to handle anything that gets thrown your way. Whether that involves birds without wings, -taur-like creatures, insects with only four limbs, snakes with arms, etc etc...

So as a combination of those two ideas, I decided to render sir Hexit's wonderfully nefarious character, Frizee Grobermund. By far, the most difficult part was coming up with a natural position for all those freaking arms x) My natural design of a spider would include between 6-8 of those limbs actually being legs on the ground, giving an appearance much closer to the feral animal. Anyway, Frizee can be pretty mean pretty often, you certainly would not want to run into her in any situation =o
